Sculptural composition in four parts - one-off piece
Porcelain and blued steel
Metal and porcelain respond to heat in opposing ways: metal expands, while porcelain contracts during firing. These material transformations become a metaphor for the ways we respond to pressure, change, and uncertainty.
The work reflects on beliefs and strategies that may once have offered protection, stability, or orientation, but can become restrictive when circumstances change. What once helped us endure may later prevent us from adapting.
Expansion, contraction, tension, and fracture become physical expressions of inner processes. The materials reveal a fragile balance between resistance and openness, holding on and letting go, stability and transformation.
